Olly Bould reports on a frustrating defeat

Three goals in the last twenty minutes of the match saw us suffer a narrow 2-1 defeat to Skelmersdale United.

Kidsgrove dominated the first half having more of the ball and plenty of chances. The best chance fell to Will Saxon who was played through one on one with the keeper by Kingsley Adu-Gyamfi but his shot went just over the crossbar. Despite so many chances, Kidsgrove couldn't find the opening goal and it was goalless at half time.

It was a more even in the second half and the visitors took the lead on the seventy-first minute when Declan McLoughlin tapped in a good cross. Kidsgrove equalised ten minutes later when some superb build up play ended with Kieran Knapper drilling the ball into the bottom corner.

But it was heartbreak for Kidsgrove as Will Bell scored the winner for Skelmersdale after a scramble in the box led to him hitting home with three minutes left of the match and it gave them all three points.

A disappointing result but focus now must turn to Tuesday night as we host Colne, hoping to get back to winning ways.
