Three superb goals got Kidsgrove all three points despite late pressure from Ramsbottom.
Kidsgrove were on the front foot early on and got their reward as just before the ten minute mark, Kieran Brown made a great run, battling off a defender and managed to put a cross into the box and Aaron Bott was open and with a glancing header put Kidsgrove in the lead.
The game became more even with both sides seeing plenty of the ball and having chances, the best came for Kidsgrove as the ball was whipped in and Kieran Brown managed to get his head on it before the keeper but his effort hit the post and Ramsbottom managed to clear away.
Kidsgrove had more chances in the first half but couldn't take them and they were punished in the 36th minute as James Murphy equalised for Ramsbottom as a shot that was saved by Kidsgrove keeper Ryan Brown feel in Murphy's feet and he put it past the Grove keeper.
The score was level was the teams went into half time, with Kidsgrove disappointed not to be ahead at half time after multiple chances missed.
However, it didn't take Kidsgrove long after the break to re-take the lead after the ball fell to Lewis Bergin's feet and from around 25 yards out, left footed, he rifled it into the top right corner, leaving the keeper absolutely no chance of saving it.
Ramsbottom pilled on the pressure after Kidsgrove's early second half goal, creating plenty of chances but Kidsgrove defence stood strong but they knew a second goal would give them nice cushion to hold on until the final whistle and that's exactly what they got.
A counter attack that found Bott, who played the ball to Kieran Knapper who smashed the ball into the bottom corner with a first time shot with just over fifth fifthteen minutes to go and it was looking be a comfortable win.
Then, Ramsbottom pulled one back soon after when a scramble inside the box found Thomas Croughan and they were back in the game with just over ten minutes left of the match.
Kidsgrove were under pressure for the remainder of the match but everyone got stuck in and soaked up the Ramsbottom pressure and with some great defending, Kidsgrove held on to take the three points back home.
