Olly Bould previews our trip to Skelmersdale

Kidsgrove looking to make it four wins on the bounce in all competitions as we travel up to Skelmersdale this Saturday.

After a 2-1 win against Widnes last week in the league, and a 4-0 win in the Staffordshire Senior Cup on Wednesday night against Stafford Town. Kidsgrove are looking strong going into Saturdays fixture.

On Wednesday night, Ernst Ofosu put Kidsgrove in front within the first ten minutes with a shot that deflected over the keeper, Will Saxon doubled Kidsgrove’s lead just under halfway through the first half as he gets on the end of a high ball and smartly finishes past the keeper.

Aaron Bott scored two goals in the second half, with two great finishes to secure a comfortable win and progress to the next round. It was a dominant performance which will put the players and manager in high confidence going into Saturdays match against Skelmersdale.

Skelmersdale have not won in their last five matches, losing all their matches but they’ve been close games with only one or two goals in it. Their last match was a 2-1 defeat away at Bottle.

Bootle took the lead early in the game, Sam Sheen scored for Skelmersdale to draw level ten minutes before the break, but Bootle won the game with just over ten minutes to go.

With Kidsgrove sitting 7th, two points outside the play offs, they will be looking to continue their good run of form and climb into the play-off places. Skelmersdale sit 16th and will be looking to get back to winning ways and ascend up the league table.

Kidsgrove Athletic vs Skelmersdale Untied, Saturday 3rd December, The Community Ground, 3pm Kick Off.
